Theresa M. Barnes (Lanese)
Theresa Barnes is an experienced attorney who specializes in litigation for workers’ compensation appeals and personal injury cases.
Theresa began her career representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases at a Cleveland law firm, then moved to a larger firm where she represented parties in commercial disputes. She joined Plevin & Gallucci to return to helping injured individuals whose lives have been disrupted through no fault of their own. She works to ensure that victims receive fair compensation through negotiating and securing favorable settlements or trying cases to a successful verdict.
Theresa has a passion for litigation. While earning her Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, she was a two-year member of the Trial Team. She was also Vice President of Justinian Forum and Articles Editor on Cleveland State Law Review. She received the William K. Garner Award for Outstanding Student in Civil Procedure and the CALI Excellence for Future Awards in Civil Procedure and Criminal Procedure II.
Theresa has twice been named to the Super Lawyers list of Rising Stars in Ohio, in 2021 and 2022. She is admitted to practice before the Ohio Supreme Court and the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio. She is a member of the Ohio Association for Justice and the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in Criminal Justice at Bowling Green State University, and grew up in Brunswick, Ohio.
Outside the office, Theresa is a busy mother of identical twin girls and a member of the Westshore Mothers of Twins Club. She is a devoted Cleveland sports fan.
